Welcome to our new website.
For more than two years, we’ve been helping authors, communications professionals, and students reach their goal: getting their best work in front of readers.
It’s been a gratifying experience.
As we state on our home page, our most important service is helping writers achieve their dreams.
But we want to go further.
We’ve redesigned our website in order to make it a resource for the writing communities of West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and the world at large. We’ve added this blog and an events page to help draw attention to the work writers do, where you can find them, and our efforts to assist them.
Our columns on editing and writing for Mountain Whispers, the quarterly newsletter of West Virginia Writers Inc., reach its talented and active membership, but we believe making available that advice, through our website and social media pages, can be helpful to a wider audience. That’s why you’ll be seeing more of us more often on this blog and on Facebook and Twitter.
The area’s booksellers and others also play an important role in featuring the outstanding work of our regional, state, and local writers. These literary merchants feature regular programs that give writers a chance to read from their works and promote their efforts. By adding the events page to our website, we hope to support and advance those programs, authors, and book dealers.
We’re fortunate to serve a vibrant, engaged, and talented writing community. Promoting those gifted authors, and those who sell their work, is vital to sustaining that source of inspiration and creativity.
The relaunch of our website and its new features coincides with another important event — the annual West Virginia Book Festival. Scheduled Oct. 4 and 5 at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center and sponsored by the Kanawha County Public Library, it’s the Mountain State’s biggest book event of the year.
We Edit Books will be there in Booth 503. We’ll be joined by West Virginia authors M. Lynne Squires and Terry Bowe. (More on that as the festival approaches.)
Our hope is that you find our website and its features a place that’s informative, thoughtful, and beneficial.
Please visit us often.
